Info: The Tobacco Rental Company (Compania Arrendataria de Tabacos) was a Spanish public company in charge of the management of the state monopoly of the manufacture and sale of tobacco, which was constituted by law on April 22, 1887 at the request of the Minister of Finance. In 1945, it became Tabacalera SA, a mercantile company created by the Franco regime. In 2008 the British group Imperial Tobacco acquired Tobacalera through a public acquisition of 100% of shares.
